Ashley Kennedy
IFC Co-Founder
Principal
FK&Co
Since co-founding FK & Company in 2009, Ashley has built one of the top political fundraising firms in the country, leading fundraising strategy for Members of Congress, PACs, corporations, and nonprofit causes.
Ashley has raised record-breaking dollars for some of the fiercest and most expensive Senate campaigns across more than 25 states, including U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV), Gary Peters (D-MI), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), and John Hickenlooper (D-CO). She led the fundraising efforts for U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) when, in 2018, she became the first woman to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate. And, she championed the fundraising campaign for U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) when she won in 2012, defying predictions that her re-election was impossible. Before launching her fundraising career, Ashley worked in the legislative offices of Senator Robert Byrd and Senator John D. Rockefeller IV.
Over her nearly 20 years in the industry, Ashley’s earned a reputation for recognizing the opportunities and complexities each candidate faces from the campaign trail to Capitol Hill. She meticulously designs and orchestrates multi-channel fundraising strategies that maximize each client’s potential while leveraging their time and resources. Her experience includes securing seed money and cultivating donor networks, supporting preliminary campaign operations, or, when necessary, stepping in to supplement campaign fundraising efforts during particularly tight races.
Ashley’s built an unparalleled network of funders from coast-to-coast and cultivated long-standing relationships with donors that guide her instincts about which candidates and issues will motivate them. She counsels high-net-worth individuals, Fortune 100 Companies, and family foundations on philanthropic giving, helping them calculate when and where to invest key contributions. She also advises nonprofit organizations on fundraising strategy, from gala planning to donor cultivation to navigating Capitol Hill.
Ashley is from West Virginia and graduated from the University of Richmond with her BS in Business Administration and Economics. She is currently pursuing an MBA from West Virginia University.
Ashley lives in Washington, DC with her husband and their three children and can often be found cheering for her kids on a soccer field or training for her next marathon.
